

The event ENCONTRO 100 ANOS DE MERCEDES BAPTISTA, presented by the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro with the funding of the Grafias do Gesto Laboratory supported by the Vice-Rector of Extension – PR5, School of Physical Education and Sports and Department of Body Art, in partnership with the Postgraduate Program in Dance - PPGDAN, Center for Research in Dance and Afro-Brazilian Culture - NUDAFRO and the Project on Africanity in Dance-Education - PADE, from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro comes to pay homage to one of the protagonists of Dance Afro-Brazilian, Mercedes Baptista, promoting a space for exchanges between the country's Undergraduate Dance Courses, dance professionals and other areas of the arts. Dialogical interaction with the Afro-Brazilian dance theme through the sharing of processes, knowledge, memories and practices in contemporary times, in the dance community and in different artistic manifestations.
