The Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, also called the University of Brazil, is a federal university in Brazil and a reference center for teaching, research and extension in the country and in Latin America, ranking among the best in the world.
The Federal University of Rio de Janeiro has a tradition in arts where we can see through the undergraduate courses at the School of Fine Arts, School of Music, the Theater and Dance courses that were implemented together.
Department of Body Arts
The Body Art Department has three Undergraduate Courses in its structure: the Bachelor's Degree in Dance, the Bachelor's Degree in Dance Theory and the Bachelor's Degree in Dance, with the Bachelor's Degree in Dance Theory being the only one in Brazil. The department is the largest in the country and in this structure we have 43 teachers, 19 administrative technicians and 600 students in 2022. Over time, our teachers have been training, which allowed the implementation of the Postgraduate Dance Program – PPGDAN , in 2018, the first class in 2019 and is the second program in the country.
